11 Months

Greyson turned 11 months old yesterday! He is a very, very busy boy! There is never a dull moment around here!!! He is walking more and more each day. Still prefers crawling to walking, but is definitely getting the hang of things. He loves to mimic us. When we say dance, he dances (moves his head from side to side). When we tap on his high chair tray he taps, and so on and so on... He also loves climbing in and out of things. Yesterday, when I picked him up from school, Hema informed me that he undid the sides of his pack and play (they are a little different from the typical ones, so probably a little easier to undo) and climbed out!!! He is talking quite a bit, and he often says "kitty, hi, mama, dada, done or down?". He is a joy to be around! It is so fun to watch his personality develop. We are looking forward to celebrating the big ONE next month!

First BooBoo

Our little Grey had his first big Boo Boo last night...Very scary for Mom and Dad, not so scary for Greyson. I'm pretty sure he's going to be quite the little adventurer, since he's certainly not afraid of much! So, I was giving him his bath last night and he wouldn't stop trying to climb out of the bath tub. I kept telling him no, but he kept persisting. The next second all I saw was our son leaping out of the bath tub onto the floor!!!!! So, what was he doing you might ask? Well, he wanted to push the toilet lever up and down. Oh, its the little things that amuse children, isn't it!?! I immediately picked him up and noticed he had cut the corner of his eye. Nothing too bad, just very scary for me and Dad!!!! I'm afraid we might have to start implementing a "no standing in the tub" rule. Not sure how that will work since that's all he does!!!! Any advice?

Here are some pics of him this morning. He was squinting when I first went to get him, but after that he was just fine. I think he is healing well.

Here are a few more photos from the last couple of days:

***I got good footage of Greyson walking last night, just need to download it***

I LoVE YoU

Greyson is almost 11 months now, but I have been meaning to share this for quite some time. Yes, Greyson's first words were "I love you" at 3 months old... At least it sure sounded like it!!! We love you buddy! You are an amazing little boy! FYI- You only need to watch the first 50 seconds or so to see. Sorry it's so long, I haven't mastered my editing skills yet!

Update: Yesterday, Greyson's school told me he took 6 steps!!!!! Looks like we've got a walker on our hands. I tried to get footage after work last night, but he was too tired and wouldn't perform. Better luck today!

Din Din

For all of those cooks out there who like to make crock-pot recipes, I made this one tonight and it was really tasty. Even Greyson liked it!!!

Slow Cooker Cranberry Roast

INGREDIENTS:
1 (1 ounce) envelope dry onion
soup mix
1 (3 pound) beef chuck roast
1 (16 ounce) can jellied
cranberry sauce
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

DIRECTIONS:
1.
Place onion soup mix in the bottom of a slow cooker. Place roast in the slow cooker, and top with cranberry sauce.
2.
Cover, and cook 8 hours on Low.
3.
Remove roast, and set aside. Set slow cooker to High. Whisk together butter and flour, and slowly mix into the liquid remaining in the slow cooker to create a thick gravy. Serve with the roast.

SPI 2008

We just got back from our annual trip to South Padre Island with Mike's family. We were there for four days and had a blast!!!!!!!! Greyson loved the beach and loved eating the sand even more! Yum! Greyson also took four steps all on his own while we were at the beach!!!!! He's definitely on the verge of walking! Move over Mom and Dad! You better get ready!

Mike, Grandpa, Uncle Jeff, and I all went bay fishing on Friday. We caught several trout, some stingrays, a salt water catfish, and a flounder, just to name a few.

The four cousins (Brody, Cruz, Ezra, and Grey) had a great time hitting each other and stealing toys from one another! Ha! No, they really did have lots of fun together. We look forward to spending many more vacations together in SPI! Here are some pictures of our fun filled week:

And here we go...

We've started a blog in hopes of helping us to stay in touch with family and friends both near and far! I hope that you enjoy all of the shades of Grey! We sure do!
