Fall trip to San Antonio

This weekend we went to San Antonio to visit Grandpa and Grandma, and Grandmother. We had a great time! On Saturday Daddy, Grandpa, and Grey went to a hobby shop and watched all sorts of trains, while the girls hung out. Greyson LOVED it! While there Greyson got a Thomas the Train hat which he wouldn't take off the entire weekend. He took naps and went to bed with it on. Saturday night Grandpa and Grandma watched the kiddos while Mommy and Daddy went to dinner on the Riverwalk and went to see a show. We had a wonderful time. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma! On Sunday Grandmother went with us to the San Antonio Botanical Gardens to see the Bugs exhibit and enjoy the Halloween festivities.

Pumpkin Patch Photos

2009 Pumpkin Patch Visit

This morning we took a short trip to the Bethany United Methodist pumpkin patch. It was a perfect day for the outing! We had grand expectations of getting a good family pic and even brought our tripod for such a thing. But, no luck!!!! Greyson is going through a phase where he will not take pictures. We can't get him to sit next to Maggie, and he won't smile at the camera when you want him to. I know it's just a phase, but it is frustrating to say the least.

Maggie's 5 Month Birthday

Maggie turned 5 months yesterday! Wow, time sure is flying!!! For the most part, she is a pretty laid back baby. She typically only fusses when she is tired or hungry. She's still not the best napper, but seems to be improving in that area. She sleeps through the night on occasion, but for the most part still wakes up once at night. We haven't really made an effort to let her cry it out yet, but will probably begin soon , since she is almost 6 months. She is talking more and more and is really reaching for things., which means we have to be more careful about what's in front of her. I think she might be ready for solids soon since she is really interested in what we are eating. Hopefully then she might start sleeping through the night more regularly!!!

Together

We tried to get studio pictures of the kids taken on Saturday, but were not successful. Greyson just wasn't having it, so we ended up just getting some pics of Maggie. This morning before dropping them off at school I decided to try and get a few. Thought they turned out pretty cute!

Thomas

Last Saturday we headed to Burnet to ride Thomas the Train. The weather was pretty crummy, but we still made the best of it. Greyson wasn't 100%, so it was hard to get him to smile for pictures. He loved it though, and all he could talk about on the ride home was how he rode Thomas!!! He has been carrying his ticket around everywhere and even took it to bed with him one night.

Change

A couple of weeks ago when we were putting Greyson down for bed, he threw his leg out of the crib and acted as though he was going to jump out at any moment. We decided this meant it was probably time to transition to the toddler bed. So, last Friday was the first night and Greyson did great! He did fall out once, but hasn't fallen out again. We will probably move him into a twin bed in the next couple of months, so hopefully this will get him ready for it! I must admit, it was a little sad for me, as it's another step away from babyhood.

A&M v. Arkansas

A couple of weeks ago we travelled to Dallas to visit Jeff, Renae, Cruz, and Ezra. The trip in the car was long, but we survived! Greyson and Maggie did pretty well on the trip, but Maggie had slept through the night the two nights prior to our trip and did not continue the trend in Dallas!

While in Dallas we enjoyed the awesome weather on Saturday and went to the Cottonwood Art Festival.

On Saturday night Mike and I went to the A&M v. Arkansas game (while Renae watched our kids and her two kids--Thanks so much Aunt Renae!!!!) The game was pretty depressing but the new Cowboys Stadium sure is pretty!

Thought this was a cool picture of the 3 boys and the Moms

Toddler Speak

Greyson has been saying some really funny things lately! Here are a few of our conversations:

Grey: Mommy there are unicorns outside
Mommy: Really, there are unicorns outside. Where?
Grey: They're on the ground
Mommy: Oh, you mean acorns Greyson?
Grey: Yes, Mommy acorns

Grey: Oh my goodness!
(BTW-this is hilarious coming from a 2 year olds mouth)
Mommy: Oh my goodness what?
Grey: There are pumpkins in the air!

***Greyson has a book called the 5 little pumpkins which says "There are witches in the air", so I guess he was remembering the book. He gets "Oh my goodness" from me, cause I say it quite a bit!

Mommy: Roja means red in Spanish, Greyson
Grey: Shani speaks Spanish (his teacher Rashani teaches some Spanish to them on occasion)
Mommy: Yes, Rashani speaks Spanish
Grey: Buenos Dias!

He gets funnier and funnier each day!
