Wow! This blogging thing sure slipped away from me in the last year. It's hard to believe that Maggie is almost two and Greyson is nearly 3 1/2! Last year brought on some big changes for our family...probably the biggest for all of us, is my new job...as a stay at home mom. While I could easily use that as an excuse for not blogging, I won't. My lack of blogging has a little to do with that and a lot to do with laziness or just lack of interest.

You see, I love reading about others lives, journeys, etc. in their blogs, but I never really thought my own life was all that interesting. But, after looking back at our blog, I began to think of the real reasons I started it...to document the growth of our children and our family....So, here I go again....I can't promise that my posts will be daily, and maybe not even weekly, but I am committed to blogging about our children and our family once again!

Oh, and we have a new title too!!! I thought it was fitting since our children say some great things!

Tears

I found this video on a blog that I regularly follow. It brought me to tears. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I did! It is so true and serves as a definite reminder to enjoy the little things.

January

It has been a busy month for us! A trip to the circus, birthday parties, several sick days (colds, stomach flu, mastitis, and thrush), Maggie pulling up everywhere, and a Robert Earl Keen concert date night to name a few. I'm sure February will be even busier and hopefully not as sickly!

So Much Fun

Each day is so much fun with our two little ones in the house. Everyday one of them does something new, says something funny, learns something exciting, or teaches us something we didn't know. Sure, some days are stressful, but boy are those days worth it!

Christmas in January

Merry Christmas to everyone (in January almost February)! Ha! I am so behind in posting anything on this blog. Seems like every night I say I'm going to post something and I am either too wiped out or I'm just not in the mood. Anyways, we had a wonderful Christmas! We celebrated in San Antonio with grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Gettin Around

It's official!!! Our baby girl is crawling! Wow, it all happened SO fast. She has been rocking back and forth and scooting around for quite some time, but about a week ago she really started crawling forward. She's really getting around now, and is so proud of herself!

November

Wow! November was a busy month for us. We visited grandparents in San Antonio twice, took Greyson to watch Walking with Dinosaurs, started Maggie on solid food, celebrated Thanksgiving twice (once in Austin and the other in San Antonio), moved Greyson into his "big boy" bed, and much more.

Walking with dinosaurs was awesome!!!! Greyson LOVED it! He talked the whole entire show about how cool the dinosaurs were. We couldn't get him to stop!!!!

Checking out Daddy's cool vintage Lionel trains. One of Grey's favorite things to do!!!

6 Months

I wrote this about 3 weeks ago, but haven't been keeping up lately...since this is sort of a scrapbook for me, I'm posting now:

Maggie is 6 months now (11/15/09)! I know that every parent says time flies, but it really is true! It seems like yesterday that we brought our sweet baby girl home from the hospital. Maggie is a wonderful baby. She is very laid back much like her brother (or I should say WAS right now--after all he is 2). She sleeps well and is starting to move around much more on the floor. She scoots backwards and then gets frustrated cause she wants something in front of her. She has been getting on all fours and rocking a bit, so she will probably be everywhere very soon. For such a tiny thing she sure is strong! Her 6 month stats are as follows:

Weight: 13 lbs 10th%

Height: 24.5 inches 25th%

Head: 25th%

I must say after they weighed her I was a bit concerned at how little she is, but the doctor who is generally pretty conservative when it comes to these things, wasn't the slightest bit concerned. She said Maggie is just petite and is likely just "coming into her own".

Sleeping Beauty

My sweet baby girl has been sleeping through the night for over 3 weeks!!!!! Woohoo Maggie!!! It's hard to believe you will be 6 months old in a few days!!! Where is the time going?

This is how I found her the other morning when I went to go wake her. Gotta love it!

Halloween 2009

We had so much fun this Halloween! Greyson was so much more into it than the year before and loved trick-or-treating. However, being the 2 year old that he is, the costume selection process was not so fun! Originally, he was going to be a giraffe, Maggie a lion, and Mike and I safari people. Well, let's just say we ran into a snag a few days before Halloween when Greyson didn't want to wear his giraffe costume. Oh boy!!! I took Greyson to several stores in hopes that he would find something he really loved. He wavered between Thomas the train, Spiderman, a race car driver, a pumpkin, and batman. I got lucky and found a batman costume and he finally decided he would wear it. He ended up loving it, and has even worn it since Halloween! Lesson learned: next year, he will be picking out his own costume from the get go!

Fall trip to San Antonio

This weekend we went to San Antonio to visit Grandpa and Grandma, and Grandmother. We had a great time! On Saturday Daddy, Grandpa, and Grey went to a hobby shop and watched all sorts of trains, while the girls hung out. Greyson LOVED it! While there Greyson got a Thomas the Train hat which he wouldn't take off the entire weekend. He took naps and went to bed with it on. Saturday night Grandpa and Grandma watched the kiddos while Mommy and Daddy went to dinner on the Riverwalk and went to see a show. We had a wonderful time. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma! On Sunday Grandmother went with us to the San Antonio Botanical Gardens to see the Bugs exhibit and enjoy the Halloween festivities.

Pumpkin Patch Photos

2009 Pumpkin Patch Visit

This morning we took a short trip to the Bethany United Methodist pumpkin patch. It was a perfect day for the outing! We had grand expectations of getting a good family pic and even brought our tripod for such a thing. But, no luck!!!! Greyson is going through a phase where he will not take pictures. We can't get him to sit next to Maggie, and he won't smile at the camera when you want him to. I know it's just a phase, but it is frustrating to say the least.

Maggie's 5 Month Birthday

Maggie turned 5 months yesterday! Wow, time sure is flying!!! For the most part, she is a pretty laid back baby. She typically only fusses when she is tired or hungry. She's still not the best napper, but seems to be improving in that area. She sleeps through the night on occasion, but for the most part still wakes up once at night. We haven't really made an effort to let her cry it out yet, but will probably begin soon , since she is almost 6 months. She is talking more and more and is really reaching for things., which means we have to be more careful about what's in front of her. I think she might be ready for solids soon since she is really interested in what we are eating. Hopefully then she might start sleeping through the night more regularly!!!

Together

We tried to get studio pictures of the kids taken on Saturday, but were not successful. Greyson just wasn't having it, so we ended up just getting some pics of Maggie. This morning before dropping them off at school I decided to try and get a few. Thought they turned out pretty cute!
